Preparing for Honorlock Exams

Preparing for Honorlock Exams

Exam Proctoring Information

Please keep in mind all exams must be proctored, meaning the test will be overseen by an authorized proctor who will ensure the test-taker's identity and the test-taking environment's integrity throughout the test. Online proctoring through Honorlock will be available 24/7, does not need to be scheduled in advance, and is at no additional cost.

follow these guidelines to prepare your space and set yourself up for success.

1. Prepare Your Workspace
  • Location: Choose a quiet, well-lit room where you won’t be interrupted.
  • Desk or Table: Sit at a cleared desk or table. Remove all unapproved materials, such as books, papers, and notes.
  • Background: Ensure the area behind you is free of distractions

2. Limit Distractions

  • Other People: No one else should enter the room during your exam.
  • Noise: Eliminate background noises like music, television, or conversations.
  • Devices: Silence your phone and ensure any other devices in the room are turned off.

3. Dress Code and Appearance

  • Prohibited Items: Do not wear hats, hoodies, headsets, or earplugs during the exam.
  • Visibility: Make sure your face and ears remain visible to the webcam at all times.

4. Proctoring Guidelines

  • Stay in the Room: You must remain in the room for the entire duration of the exam unless otherwise permitted by exam rules.
  • Identity Verification: Before starting your online monitored session, you must have a valid government-issued or school-issued ID with your full name and photo.
  • Webcam Scanning: Be prepared to show a 360° view of your room during the Honorlock setup process.
  • Exam passwords are provided only to approved school proctors and should not be shared or requested by students.
*Exam Codes Only Required for In-person School Proctoring*

5. Technical Requirements

  • A fully-charged laptop or desktop computer with the Chrome Web Browser, a working video camera, and a microphone.
  • The Honorlock extension has been downloaded and enabled on your device.
  • Close all third-party programs and browser tabs before starting the exam.
  • Ensure your internet connection is stable. A wired connection is recommended for the best performance.
  • If you get disconnected due to connection issues or accidentally close the exam, immediately try to rejoin your exam session to continue and complete your attempt.
  • Begin from the corresponding exam start page in the midterm or final module.

Following these guidelines may help prevent interruptions and ensure a smooth session by ensuring your exam meets our proctoring requirements.
