If you cannot progress to the next assignment or module in your course, it may be because the Syllabus Quiz has not yet been completed. Many students attempt to bypass this step and go directly to the next assignment in Module 1, which will appear locked until the quiz is completed.

Steps to Resolve the Issue:

Navigate to your Course Syllabus: 

• 
  Click on the Syllabus button either from your course's Home page or from the Canvas main menu. 
  
  
• This is where you’ll find course information relevant to completing the syllabus quiz:

• After carefully reading through your course syllabus, please complete the quiz, ensuring that you click "submit" at the end.
  

Locked Content?

If you see locked assignments or modules, guarantee the Syllabus Quiz or previous module is fully completed and check-marked in your Grades tab.

Starting the Syllabus Quiz

If the student is using a laptop or desktop with Google Chrome and still having trouble finding the “Begin” button for the Syllabus Quiz, follow these steps:

Steps to Adjust Browser Window Size: 

1. The quiz "Begin" button is sometimes hidden because of the window size on the student's device. 
   
   
   
   
2. To reveal it, adjust your Chrome window settings using the steps provided below:
   
   
3. Open Google Chrome settings (the three vertical dots in the top right corner of your browser).
   
   
4. Under Zoom, click the Down arrow or Minus button to adjust the zoom level. Find the zoom setting that best fits your course window.

• Please remember that exams, quizzes, and some activities will require the use of a laptop or computer in Canvas.
  
  
• Canvas best aligns with viewing and navigating using an updated Google Chrome Browser.
