Will I be penalized for missing assignment due dates?
Course End Dates and Assignment Due Dates: Understanding Your Timeline
Will I be penalized for missing assignment due dates?
No, you will not be penalized for missing assignment due dates. Due dates are provided as a guide to help you pace yourself and complete your course on time. The only strict deadline is the course end date. You can complete assignments at your own pace up until your course end date, but it's important to stay on track as your school may monitor your progress regularly.
Assignment Due Dates and Progress Tracking:
- Due dates are listed under each assignment and can be found by selecting the "Assignments" tab on the left-hand side of your course page.
- These dates are suggestions to help you stay organized and progress steadily through your course.
- Your school may track your progress in real time or at regular intervals.
Assignment Groupings:
You may notice that several assignments are due on the same day. This is because assignments are grouped into four sections throughout the course. These sections may not always align evenly with the modules, as they are based on the required coursework.
- For example, a smaller section may contain more time-consuming mastery assignments, while other sections may have more straightforward tasks.
Course Start and End Dates:
- The course's end date is the only harsh deadline. All assignments must be submitted by this date.
- Check the Announcements for your course's official start and end dates.
- If you experience emergencies or unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from completing your work, refer to our Student Emergencies and Extension Requests page for further guidance.
Grade Finalization:
Keep in mind that instructors are not involved in your school's final grade or transcript ordering process. Student's final grades will be finalized and automatically sent to your school 1-2 weeks after your course end date.
Summary:
Assignment due dates are not penalizing, but they help you manage your time effectively. The course end date is student's deadline for all course assignments. Be sure to pace yourself and use the due dates as a guide. If you need assistance, reach out to TEL Support at support@tel-education.org.
