Accessing Essential Resources and Seeking Assistance in TEL Courses

Accessing Essential Resources and Seeking Assistance in TEL Courses

Overview

For academic success, it is important to know where to find key course materials and how to get help when needed. This guide points you to essential Course Home Page resources and emphasizes contacting your instructor for course-specific questions.

Course Home Page

Access important course resources on your Course Home Page. These include Start Here, Meet Your Instructor, Exam Prep, Support Services, Course Forum, and Syllabus. These sections are designed to support your success and guide you through the course. Students must view the course introductory pages to unlock Module 1 in Canvas.

Instructor Contact

If you have questions about assignments or course content, reach out directly through the Inbox on the left-hand side of your Canvas Dashboard. Select your assigned Canvas instructor displayed on the home page of the course. Be sure to request and/or attend office hours at the correct time in Central Standard Time (CST). Click the link to view our student guide on using the Canvas Inbox for contacting your course instructor.

Effective Communication

When reaching out to your instructor, we recommend using the Inbox tool directly within Canvas. This allows your assigned instructor to review your Canvas activity and provide course-specific guidance. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response; response times may be slightly longer on weekends and holidays.

If your course is no longer active or no longer appears on your Courses page in your Canvas Dashboard (menu), please include your email address, full name, and course title associated with your account for additional assistance. All TEL faculty are here to support your success.

TEL Support Services

Our Support Team can assist with quizzes, exam setup, platform-related questions, and general troubleshooting. If you need help, you can reach us at support@tel-education.org. For questions about course content or assignments, we recommend reaching out directly to your instructor through the Inbox tab in Canvas for the most accurate and course-specific guidance.

Conclusion

Students who regularly navigate their Course Home Page in Canvas, use available resources, contact TEL Support for technical help, and communicate directly with instructors for academic questions tend to have the most successful experience. Based on student feedback and performance data, these practices are consistently linked to better outcomes.
