What is proctoring?

Exam proctoring is the process of monitoring students during midterm and final examinations in order to ensure academic integrity. Testing is overseen by an authorized proctor, who ensures the identity of the test taker and the integrity of the test-taking environment. TEL provides a third-party remote proctoring service called MonitorEDU.

MonitorEDU is included in the cost of your course and can be accessed through our course platform. You do not need to go to a separate website or pay an additional fee to take your test. When you are ready to take your midterm or final exam, go to the tab in your exam lesson called “Proctoring Setup” for steps on how to access monitoring.
