How do I edit my writing?

Editing an essay is one of the final steps in the writing process.  This is where you will look for any mechanical errors, and fix them before submitting your final essay. 


When editing your work, consider the following questions: 
  • Are there any grammatical errors in the essay? 

  • Are there any spelling errors in the essay? 

  • Are all capitalizations in the appropriate places? 

  • Are all punctuation marks correctly placed?
