Do I have to use a proctor, and is proctoring free?

Yes and yes; proctoring is required for all our exams to ensure the identity of the test taker and the integrity of the testing environment. TEL utilizes Honorlock, a third-party remote proctoring service, which is included in the cost of the course.

Students will first need to complete the "Exam Prep" module located at the beginning of the course modules. Be sure to click through and review each section carefully. Students will also need to complete the Honorlock Setup Quiz to confirm that Honorlock is properly installed and working correctly before attempting any proctored exams.

Students will also be able to review additional Honorlock information in the "Midterm Exam" and "Final Exam" modules within their Canvas course. Please note that not all courses include a Midterm Exam, so students may only see a Final Exam module in some courses.  There, they will find the necessary setup instructions, exam expectations, and guidelines to begin their proctored exams.
